|Mark Itzstein, who hails from Australia, joined the Secure Firearm Products Shooting Team in 2007, a year after relocating to the United States. Itzstein has dominated handgun target shooting for nearly a decade.|
Itzstein started shooting in 1999 and quickly established his presence in the shooting world by finishing third at the Australian Pin Shooting Nationals in 2000, placing him on the Australian Team to shoot in the U.S.
He came back and won the Australian Pin Shooting Nationals in 2001, 2002 and 2003, setting new records in most events that still stand today. In addition, he served as a three-time Australian Pin Shooting Team Captain.
In 2003, a series of reforms were introduced in Australia that further prohibited handgun target shooting. At that time, Itzstein transferred his pistol shooting skills to revolvers.
Victories to his credit include winning multiple Asia Pacific Masters Games medals as well becoming a two-time winner of Australian International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE) Nationals. In addition, Itzstein’s impressive career has included regularly placing in the top at the International Revolver Championships, winning multiple ICORE regional and state title matches in the U.S. and Australia and earning numerous top three finishes at the Steel Challenge in Open Revolver.
Itzstein started shooting NRA Action Pistol in 2007 and earned his way to finishing 8th at the NRA Bianchi Cup 2009, shooting 1914 of 1920.
