| | | Louis Surgi | | | Louis Surgi began shooting in 2004 with the local 4-H group. 22 Sporter rimfire rifle shooting was the only discipline available to a 8 year old in the 4-H program. His big sister was shooting trap at the time and he started shooting trap at the local club. Later he was introduced to the Ruger 22 auto pistol and fell in love with pistols. He attended the International Revolver Championships in 2007 and was given a 686+ on the condition he return and compete.
Louis's first REAL match was the Back 2 Back match in Osceola IA in the fall of 2007. He practiced and practiced and returned to the IRC in 2008 and won 4th in the Jr. Limited Division. He then competed in the Pro-Am in Tulsa shooting a 45 auto and fell in love with the 1911 as well. While shooting local USPSA matches and the Southern ICORE Regional he improved his technique and skills and returned to the IRC in 2009 and finished 2nd in Jr. Limited. He finished 2nd in the Jr. Division in the 3 Days of Revo. Match in Osceola IA and finished the top Jr. in the Midwest ICORE Regional in 2009. He has competed in the Pro-Am steel match in Tulsa the last 2 years. | | | |
